We will finally have our first DCS online battle of 2015! 104th phoenix have announced the upcoming TvT battle: OPFOR 15-1.
OPFOR stands for Opposing Force which is a military unit tasked with representing an enemy, usually for training purposes in war game scenarios.
104th Phoenix and 51st PVO will represent the OPFOR team and they will be outnumbered almost 2 to 1! both squadrons have many talented pilots who will be up to the task.
This will be an excellent training opportunity for the DCS folks who will sign up to take up the challenge.
Many DCS pilots have made their marks in similar events in the past and have since, evolved into aces of the PvP scene.
This event’s realism level will not differ from its predecessors; each pilot will have a single life so if crashed or shot down must exit the battle.
The duration of the battle has been set to 3 hours at the term of which, scores will be added up to designate the winning team.
There will be 40 slots at most, 15 for the OPFOR team versus 25 regular slots. OPFOR pilots will be flying a mixture of F-15s and Su-27s without AWACS support. Unlike the last Joint Warrior event, pilots will have to rely on own sensors, teamwork and situational awareness, which requires different tactics and makes the battlefield much more dangerous and unpredictable.
Pilot logs and stats will be tracked and performance results will be included into the SA Rankings.
