We are excited to announce the launch of ‘SA Battles’, a new Multiplayer air combat league starting this month as an official T.M.C event (Tactical Mission / Campaign) sanctioned by the SA journal and in association with the 104th Virtual Fighter and Bomber Squadron.
SA-Battles has been created to provide the multiplayer community with more events and the chance to work as part of a large scale coalition with realistic objectives and missions.
Events will be split into 2 different formats:
First is the traditional Red vs Blue with both teams having equal air and ground assets and going head to head in a death match style just like previous OPFOR battles; the winning side will be the one that scored the highest amount of points at the end of the 3 hour match; each target has its own value; these competitions will be be designated as “Joint Warrior” events, which implies players from different wings and squadrons joining forces in an attempt to dominate the enemy and progress to the next stage of the competition.
The second format called “Red FLag” will mirror real world’s Red Flag operations as realistically as possible with outnumbered red forces (RedFor) taking on an extremely capable BluFor.
RedFor pilots, also called aggressor or adversary pilots will be selected from the top ranked pilots to justify the fact that they will be outnumbered at least 2 to 1; the task of the adversary pilots will be to force a no-fly-zone as well as defending own ground troops from enemy air threats;
Blue forces will be on the offensive and will do whatever they can to breach the no-fly-zone and wipe out enemy ground targets as well as shooting down any enemy aircraft standing in their way.
