Arma 3 – Battle Royale Demo With VALAR MORGHULIS

What is Battle Royale?

Battle Royale is an extreme survival game-mode for the Arma series that plunges players into fast paced, last man standing matches, with one chance to win.

Inspired by the book/movie ‘Battle Royale’, it provides a unique game-play experience and provides an intense, always changing game for the player.

The rules are simple. There can be only one winner. Everyone else must die!

Players get parachuted across the map unarmed so the first task upon landing is to try to find a weapon and from there start hunting down your opponents. There could be other items such as bulletproof vests to help you survive the grueling yet very immersive experience.

Battle Royale is one of the very popular mods for Arma 3 and has been created by PLAYERUNKNOWN – here is the official website:

I’ve stumbled upon this cool video showcasing the mod and thought I’d share. I hope you will enjoy it!

Combat Air Patrol Over Nevada With Bushmanni

dcs_f15_combat air patrol
Here are a few great videos of Red Flag 4 from our Friend Bushmanni, leader of the SF squadron and one of the very best DCS pilots in the world! For more details about RF4, you can check out the complete After Action Report here:

I’ve personally enjoyed an effective yet concise radio communication, good mastery of radar employment, a great sense of situational awareness in many tricky situations and a solid teamwork display. You will also be able to witness a high level of geometry control when engaging the bad guys in beyond visual range, slick maneuvering and overall just plain mastery of the F-15C Eagle in a combat air patrol sortie. It comes as no surprise that Bushmanni is currently #2 in the air-to-air rankings!

For those of you who are not familiar with the avionics of the F-15C Eagle, the image at the top of this page may help:

Here we go, I hope you will enjoy riding along with Bushmanni, he managed to splash two bandits while helping his buddies score their own kills on two occasions and also survived the 3 hour grueling battle and made it back home safe.

I’m sure many will find these videos helpful in widening your knowledge of the F-15C Eagle and honing your tactics for a fully fledged force on force battle like Red Flag.

Bushmanni got more videos from past events that you can check out on his YT channel here:

For those of you who might have a question regarding these videos, please do not hesitate to post in the comment section below, we would be happy to help.

Top Gun 2 – The Birth of an Ace

top gun r2_ae A few people would have expected Top Gun 2 to succeed given that the 1.5 Beta version of DCS only came out recently and the stability of the game was not something we could take for granted. However, it did and in a fantastic fashion.

The TAW gents were excellent at hosting the event, investing a considerable time into setting up the servers and testing extensively the mission itself alongside its designer Stuge, on top of acting as referees for the massive 79 matches over the course of 4 days. We are glad to have a professional team and a great asset like TAW led by OverG, DutchBaron and SkyCap as a full member of the SA family.
Top Gun 2 would not have been such a success without the contribution of the 104th clan by hosting a portion of the many fights that took place. Mr Riptide brilliantly refereed those matchs while providing excellent after-action reports.

Now, let’s focus on what happened in the Top Gun skies and frankly you could only start with the incredible performance of Stuge. Through displaying unparalleled BFM skills, Stuge has not only won the competition but also without loosing a single round! Stuge has also achieved the same result in both the 1v1 and the 2v2 tournaments! These facts speak for themselves; Stuge was simply in a class of his own and it’s only fair to see such a great champion emerge as the new DCS world number 1 fighter pilot.

Squadron Air-to-Air Championship 2015 – Promotional Video

SATAC stands for Squadron Air to Air Championship; this will be the second edition after 2013, which saw the triumph of the 51st PVO Regiment over NFI in a thrilling final match on a score of 2 rounds to 1.

This PvP competition runs on a double knock out format meaning that each squadron must loose twice to exit the tournament. This means that no matter how things go, each squadron will have the opportunity to fly at least two matches, obviously more in case of victory.

Therefore, SATAC offers a valuable opportunity for Squadrons to test their skills in a very strict PvP environment where only teamwork and cohesion decide who will advance to the next stage of the competition.

Each round is a fighter sweep sortie where each side will try to control a specific airspace while denying the enemy the same either by forcing all opponents out of the bubble or by actually destroying them.

Both 4v4 and 6v6 are allowed, teams can rotate their pilots after each round and all matches will be best of 3 rounds, i.e, the winner will be the first team to win two rounds.

Even though it is a squadron based event, we also want to welcome lone wolves who can sign up and form teams for the purpose of this tournament.

This event will count for the air-to-air rankings. The dates of this competition will be determined as soon as DCS gets back the Integrity Check feature.

We look forward to seeing many DCS squadrons as well as lone wolves stepping up to the plate to make the most out of what we hope will be a great competition filled with action packed fights and loads of fun and thrills.

BFM Showcase with Sinan ‘A.S’ Akkaya

pilot thumb up
In the air combat arena, the BFM acronym stands for Basic Fighter Maneuvers; although most maneuvers can be mastered with a bit of practice, some are more advanced and need a lot more training to pull off. However, it is, especially, deciding which maneuver to go for in a given situation that turns out to be a challenging task, no to mention the very dynamic and fast evolution of an aerial battle, which gives a pilot very little time to pick the next move.

Today’s video is a courtesy of Sinan “A.S” Akkaya, a veteran virtual pilot, having flown all major air combat simulations and accumulated a lot of experience over the years. This is running in IL2: Battle of Stalingrad.

I’ve personally had the chance to share the skies with A.S several times and I can say with a lot of confidence that he is one of the very capable virtual fighter pilots I’ve ever met and surely one of the very few top BFM aces out there. We’ve trained together in Flaming Cliffs, Falcon, IL2, you name it and each time, I felt coming out with a better understanding of the BFM thing.

So today, through this video, I’d like to share with you, BFM fans, a couple of things that I learned from him and that helped me a lot in honing my dogfighting skills. Continue reading
